Frequently Asked Questions
QuickBooks POS will continue to work after October 3, 2023. However, as a discontinued product, it will not receive the latest critical security patches and updates. Also, connected services such as Payments, Gift Card Service, Mobile Sync, etc will stop working after October 3rd, 2023.
With the Kommerce OS plugin for QuickBooks POS, you can continue to use QuickBooks POS while accepting payments through the Kommerce OS plugin. If you eventually decide to stop using QuickBooks POS, Kommerce OS provides easy to use tools to migrate your data into Kommerce OS.
Yes. Kommerce OS integrates with both QuickBooks Desktop Accounting and QuickBooks Online. The integration automatically syncs your invoice, sales receipts, customer, inventory and vendor data between the two applications.
In most cases, the data migration process can be completed within 15 minutes, from start to finish. This includes the steps to export data from QuickBooks POS and subsequently import it into Kommerce OS. If your inventory count is larger than 5000 items, the import process might take longer, depending on the total number of records that need to be imported.
Once you export your data from QuickBooks POS, we offer a free service to import the data into Kommerce OS on your behalf. Please contact customer support if you would like to take advantage of our free data migration service.
At the very least, you will need to purchase a new card reader since the QuickBooks POS card reader will stop working on October 3rd, 2023.
Kommerce OS runs on desktop as well as Android and iOS device, so if you have a desktop computer, you can continue to use it for Kommerce OS.
The Star Micronics mPOP and TSP143III receipt printers can be used with Kommerce OS on Android devices via a Bluetooth or network connection. If you intend to use Kommerce OS on your desktop computer, you will need to use an internet capable receipt printer such as the Star Micronics mc-Print3 or TSP143III LAN. Kommerce OS does not support USB connection to receipt printers.
